Fairly recently, I was introduced to “Walk to the Marmara”, as it was to be spacemixed and gently inserted into a flow of music carefully designed for a yoga flow-to-restore workshop (a running theme, as I release all of the songs from that playlist).
This is a great piece of music, and definitely should (if not demonstrably does) satisfy many minds on the relaxation front. This song is a vacation for the mind.
Spacemixing is like playing the song through a kaleidoscopic ocean of energy that shapes the perspective of the music.
For convenient comparison, here is the non-spacemixed version of this song…
My intention upon spacemixing meditatively yoga-friendly music is to include a soft mental shelf to rest the mind upon, while holding your yoga pose. Without that shelf, percussive attacks can challenge the mental balance, so increases the challenge of the pose.
I recommend simply sitting comfortably in a seated posture, close your eyes, and naturally breath and healthily move, while listening to this lovely piece of art.
Of course, this song perfectly accompanies the walking yogi (and basically anyone else) as well.
