Artistry of Ish

When cooking a new dish without a recipe, it can be rather difficult to ascertain how long it will take to cook.

Even with ample cooking experience, sometimes the time set to innovatively cook is a bit off, as the dish needs a little more cooking time.

And so too does the artist similarly face this challenging situation with respect to releasing artwork.

Strictly honor the deadline, and pull the dish out a bit prematurely. Still tastes good, but misses the mark.

Or finesse the release responsibly flexibly, and deliver the best experience to the best of my artistic ability, preferably for audience appreciation.

I always choose the latter, whenever I have the power to choose, as I am always about quality over quantity.

July 9 (today during this authorship) is here, and the SQP21 spacemix is firmly in the final stretch — but held back only by a few small details spanning a few songs.

From now on, unless expressed to the contrary, while I will do my best to deliver a result precisely on time, my release dates have a bit of an ‘Ish’ associated with them.

There are plenty of artists who will stick to their deadlines, and accept the tradeoff in quality reduction.

At least in this careful case, I cannot subscribe to that tradeoff.

Likely, SQP21 will be released tomorrow — ish, hopefully with your approval.

I'm an honest freak (or reasonably responsibly balanced "misfit", if you prefer) of an artist working and resting to best carefully contribute towards helping society. Too many people abuse reasoning (e.g. 'partial truth = whole truth' scam), while I exercise reason to explore and express whole truth without any conflict-of-interest.
