Driving: Cannabis Vs. Stupidity

“It’s this false science that marijuana is harmless, … but it’s not, particularly when you know what it does to your time and depth perception, and the ability to understand and be attentive to what’s around you.”

No. The fact is no experimental science proves literally any harm in moderate cannabis use. Perception alteration is not necessarily harmful, and can be beneficial.

Stupidity is to blame, not cannabis legality.

Cannabis offers a dramatically different set of options in terms of effects intensity and styling, so to generically say ‘marijuana use’ is unbearably inappropriately too vague.

Certain strains improve focus (e.g. Cheese, Hindu Kush), and in mild intake amounts, logically improve driving (especially against dangerous emotional states).

At the other end of the cannabis effects spectrum is basically blasting into the cosmos on concentrates.

In between those two basic extremes is a universe of effects possibilities. Strains such as Qrazy Train can be disorienting. Mixing strains together can lead to better orientation (e.g. combining simple hazes and kushes), or lead to relatively horrific effects in terms of driving risk.

We need to know if drivers with cannabis in their system were driving normally when something bad happened. Was the crash from obviously reckless driving? Or was it from something that even a sober driver would have been unable to avoid?

Reckless driving is simply a matter of stupidity, and sober people engage in stupid driving a lot too in my rather lengthy duration of driving experience (especially here in Massachusetts).

“People have referenced this as the grand experiment, … and the only outcome they measure is the tax revenue, and that’s shameful and a disgrace.”

I’m sorry for your loss, but people such as yourself are failing to factor in the horrible damage done by prohibition, and that’s shameful and a disgrace.

Unlike alcohol, cannabis does not impact the ‘wisdom’ part of the brain, so even people blasted on concentrates can easily make the right choice regarding driving.

People who are stupid on cannabis are stupid otherwise.

Stupidity is to blame here, and society cannot legislate stupidity out of existence (it would be ironically stupid to even try).

More education is the best direction, and entertainers of all styles should be prominently informing their audiences in an entertaining fashion to avoid being stupid.

More lame Public Service Announcements, however, are not effective education by any logical measure.

Prompting article: Traffic fatalities linked to marijuana are up sharply in Colorado. Is legalization to blame?

I am an honest freak (or reasonably responsibly balanced "misfit", if you prefer) of an artist working and resting to best carefully contribute towards helping society. Too many people abuse reasoning (e.g. 'partial truth = whole truth' scam), while I exercise reason to explore and express whole truth without any conflict-of-interest -- all within a sometimes offbeat style of psychedelic artistry.

The mad white man driving his black suv behind me doing the speed limit could have benefit from a cannabis toke. He got so angry he flew around me, stopped, and was going to punch me. Then he saw my face and backed down. I was grateful I had taken two bong tokes before my trip! A gun wasn’t going to save me, spirit did.
