Patients suffered, while our “community leaders” took a couple of years to set up the “public servant” system leading to the first dispensaries after medical legality was similarly voted in place during the 2012 election here in Massachusetts.
Prohibition addiction is hypocritically and outrageously rampant, and nobody is sufficiently prominently pointing that fact (yes, fact) out — especially in the mainstream spotlight.
Prohibition has ruined millions (if not billions) of lives over the course of several decades (and still excessively counting), while costing taxpayers billions of dollars annually, while empowering criminal organizations of all sizes (including providing them with military grade weaponry and leverage to bribe and coerce aforementioned “leaders”), while never providing literally one shred of concrete (so credible) evidence proving we live in even a slightly (yes, slightly) more “drug free” America as a result (we do not even have a “drug free” prison system).
Moreover, the fact (yes, fact) is there has never been any experimental science that concludes any harm in cannabis use.
“Science” (which leaves out critical factors such as strain differential, precise intake amount, and intake method differential) merely suggests (not concludes) that “heavy use” and abuse may/can (not does) cause harm — while disclaiming that more research is needed.
That “science” has been unethically turned into tough-talking affirmations to demonize this plant in the “land of the free” with not even a peep by the mainstream media supposedly on the side of the people’s right to know.
Massachusetts lawmakers continue to give the middle finger to the public and the pitiful leverage that disallows holding these flagrant law abusers accountable.
In an uncorrupt judicial system, under no rational (so fair, so just, so legal) circumstance can the war on some drugs be legal at any level of government.
Alcohol Prohibition “mysteriously” required a federal constitutional amendment, while Certain Drug Prohibition does not. Why? Because the Commerce Clause (i.e. “To regulate Commerce with foreign Nations, and among the several States, and with the Indian Tribes”) was illegally judicially redefined to allow Congress to regulate any activity (not just commerce) having a substantial effect on commerce — and holding a certain plant in your American hand was then banned (not regulated as even the corrupt version of the law clearly states).
What nobody is talking about is the fact that your thought activity — which literally determines all of your buying and selling decisions — always has a rational effect on commerce, so by that illegal judicial “rationale”, Congress can regulate your thought activity (an apparently reasonably soon approaching technological capability).
The ninth amendment (i.e. “The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people”) has been illegally judicially disarmed, despite its obvious power as a catchall amendment that must judicially enforce our unalienable rights (the only other rights defined outside of our Constitution) — including the liberty to do no harm (without exception).
These prohibitionists have mass-infringed upon that “unalienable” right without a shred of sufficient American outrage.
Combine the ninth amendment with the Supremacy Clause (which trumps state and local laws), and restore constitutional integrity overall, and that means lights out for Certain Drug Prohibition at all levels of American governance.
Based upon the whole truth and nothing but, there is no hope for this country. It was brilliantly established against the abuse of law (with constitutional protections and an unalienable right to liberty for all), but then pre-American conservatism spanning the political spectrum immediately usurped power by entrenching the right to discriminate and persecute — and instead of leveraging our fundamental rights to put a stop to it, traditional leftists butchered constitutional law (including the Commerce Clause) for the sake of “equality” — like taking baseball bats to turn a SUV into a Prius.
Now the rule-of-law (which demonstrably is not being applied within the oligarchy) has no meaning due to its obscene complexity and unfair (so unjust) application — with no sign of reversal against that monstrously nationally destabilizing direction.
You want to make American great again? Then start by making it great for the first time, because hypocritical persecution (which has existed throughout our entire national history) can never be connected with greatness, and neither can the obscene denial that comes from dominating mass ignorance.
Get these losers out of power now!
They must fail in order for civility to succeed.
