Actually, I do not need to cite any content within the article, because the article title says enough, so let us get to my response…
After carefully studying the ‘illegal drug’ issue for several years, I can healthily confidently state that prohibitionists literally cannot sustain a single point in their favor, so let them speak, because the more they do, the sooner they thankfully lose.
By any purely uncorrupted rationale, the war on [some] drugs is flatly unconstitutional (the commerce clause application is ridiculously flagrantly corrupt against the ninth amendment with the supremacy clause that righteously prioritizes our unalienable right to liberty at all levels of government), purely ineffective by any concrete measure (we do not even have a “drug free” prison system), all degrees (including horrific and deadly) of destructive, and at least in the case of cannabis (about 75% of “illicit” drug use), scientifically unwarranted (the fact is no experimental science proves any harm in moderate cannabis use — as opposed to suggestive science, at best, stating “heavy use” and abuse may/can cause harm, while disclaiming more research is needed, and while leaving out critical scientific factors such as intake method differential, precise intake amount, and strain differential).
The internet was (is) the main game changer, because it allows the undermining of the mainstream news outlets’ refusal to report the monstrous (inter)national disaster that demonstrably is Certain Drug Prohibition (if you will), because our government (especially law enforcement) — a group clearly wanting prohibition to remain — continuously supplies “newsworthy” information pertaining to the superficially impressive looking tragedies (and other government affairs) that crushingly dominant our mainstream news feeds — so we in effect have state-run media in the land of the free press due to that most serious (and journalistically unethically undisclosed) conflict of interest against the people’s right to know.
The prohibitionists can (likely unsuccessfully) try to lock down the internet against free speech to return their sole occupancy of the national podium, where they can (again) simply look down at reformists with a simple and credibly mature looking dismissal of their concern, while prohibition thrives.
They can continue expressing their pure lies (usually by selfishly interchanging the words use and abuse to their demonizing convenience) with their in effect theft of ample taxpayer money to get their hypocritical prohibition fix — because the real drug epidemic in our world where genuine drug abuse affects well less than 1% of our population (at least according to prominent government ‘drug use’ statistics combined with mutually reputable dependency rates) is ironically Certain Drug Prohibition.
Drug abuse (by any maturely sane exercise of consideration) is a health — not criminal — issue.
Sanctioned thuggery in the land of the free demonstrates that our society is actually governed by hypocrisy — which is slowly but powerfully tearing our nation apart.
A serious (and perhaps even critical) part of that hypocrisy is encouraging the consumption of a drug called alcohol that usually enhances stupidity — so helps ensure the masses and our “leaders” both at large remain too stupid to get the job of justice (so societal stability) done right.
I am an honest freak (or reasonably responsibly balanced "misfit", if you prefer) of an artist working and resting to best carefully contribute towards helping society. Too many people abuse reasoning (e.g. 'partial truth = whole truth' scam), while I exercise reason to explore and express whole truth without any conflict-of-interest -- all within a sometimes offbeat style of psychedelic artistry.
