From “Polls: These two New England states could be the first to sell retail pot on the East Coast”:
The poll shows that 41 percent of voters are uncomfortable with a pot store in their neighborhood…
But those same opponents of cannabis shops apparently have no problem with liquor stores.
‘Liberty for me, but not for thee’ is the governing voice of hypocrisy — the true ruler of the “land of the free” and “home of the brave”.
“We the people” need to pressure more freedom and bravery to oust hypocrisy, but there is tragically no significant sign of that pressure.
By all available scientific measures, responsible cannabis use is safe and easy to achieve, but the same cannot be said for alcohol due to its generally and demonstrably destructive outcome causing outrageous amounts of suffering throughout society. In other words, as alcohol kills brain cells and encourages stupidity at even a commonly low dosage, there really is no such thing as responsible alcohol use for all intents and purposes.
When inexperienced cannabis users try mild electronic vaporization of simple and positive-feeling (including stable-minded) strains such as Cheese and Granddaddy Purple (especially using a glass chamber such as that provided by the Arizer Air), which scientifically suggestively (and empirically) forms neurological benefits, at least the alcohol nightcap is likely thankfully doomed.
In other words, while alcohol basically always remains in the realm of (tragically popularized) immaturity, cannabis offers an enormous ocean of possibilities (so not just “dope”) — including strongly within the realm of maturity.
Replace the liquor store with the cannabis shop is where wisdom rests, and as cannabis legality continues to return, that wisdom will grow clearer for us all.
Think sobriety is superior? Then understand the fact that sobriety proponents spanning decades have leveraged much more money, guns, muscles, media support, public support, and government support to oppose cannabis culture — and they are still losing.
Sobriety is fine when fitting, but drugs for the mind (upon proper use) are like clothing for the body, so have their proper place too.
I am an honest freak (or reasonably responsibly balanced "misfit", if you prefer) of an artist working and resting to best carefully contribute towards helping society. Too many people abuse reasoning (e.g. 'partial truth = whole truth' scam), while I exercise reason to explore and express whole truth without any conflict-of-interest -- all within a sometimes offbeat style of psychedelic artistry.
