When proclaiming ‘There outta be a law against that!’, I wish that proclamation would be the instantly obvious problem in the public mindset instead.
That wish reflects the Unites States of America that our Founding Fathers were righteously targeting (by a violent revolution against abusive law), but given the current inundation of law and its widespread abuse (with little to no public outrage), they did not succeed against the overwhelming pre-American conservatism then-upholding slavery (inequality against women, etc.) and spanning the political spectrum — and merely shifting to its current form these days — e.g. illegally violating the rights (ironically by lawful application) of people hardcore scientifically harmlessly exercising those rights towards unconventional positions on sexual preference and recreational perception alteration by certain drugs.
Nowadays, we deal with sanctioned thuggery against non-violent people not possibly violating any actual law in the “land of the free” (obviously illegal redefining of the already inappropriately vague Commerce Clause be finally justly damned in the case of the demonstrably outrageous Certain Drug Prohibition arisen from that seriously gross illegality — noting I have no idea what “constitutional” basis allows our government to have any lawful impact on marriage — i.e. there is none), but the public simmers largely ineffectively about abusive law itself (the terribly opposite spirit of our Founding Fathers).
I watched Cosmos last night on Netflix — the one about climate change and the pleading for public care on the matter.
The situation is similar with scientific constitutionalism, which is needed to prevent law abuse before it starts and bring law up to speed with civility and technology. Without that prevention, the public remains disastrously vulnerable to unhealthy stress from excessively applied law (including taxation), and that negative stress fuels violent backlashes and other abuses, so prompts strengthening laws and their enforcement (pouring gas on the fire to put it out). That vicious cycle amplifies like carbon dioxide excessively being dumped into Earth’s surface gases without enough care.
Hypocrisy (a form of reason abuse) is the real deadly threat against humanity, but good luck to yours truly (and potentially any other individual apparently remaining silent) towards getting that fact to stick in the public mindset by default. I swim apparently alone against the popular consensus that reason abuse is clever and natural (I can almost feel the pollution from reason abuse with every breath).
Value is the bottom line, and experience determines that value. If enough people experience unhealthy stress from “civilized” abuse, those people form the sharp response against ironically unlawful conduct. Unfortunately, the road most traveled in the form of yet another pre-American conservative (and worldwide conservative) shift remains likely to condone sanctioned thuggery (a.k.a. pitiful adult bullying) against one or more minority groups — because the public dominantly refuses to prioritize law abuse itself to protect our fundamental rights for all of us (not just the foolish bullies abusing power without care of reality’s need for balance, so inevitably painful correction against that abuse).
I am an honest freak (or reasonably responsibly balanced "misfit", if you prefer) of an artist working and resting to best carefully contribute towards helping society. Too many people abuse reasoning (e.g. 'partial truth = whole truth' scam), while I exercise reason to explore and express whole truth without any conflict-of-interest -- all within a sometimes offbeat style of psychedelic artistry.
